Direct Cremation Funeral Service
This is to help those who have very limited funds or don't want a traditional funeral service.
Our prices for Direct Cremation are very competitive and is shown on our online price list.

If Direct Cremation doesn't appeal to you then we also offer a reduced cost Basic Simple funeral service with a full dignified funeral service.
As from 30th November 2021 wearing of masks is now compulsory in Churches, Crematorium and our premisses unless except from wearing a mask
Letter from WMDC 30th November 2021
From Monday 19th July 2021 all of the chairs were returned to the main Chapels. This increased the seating capacity to the limit as detailed below
- Pontefract Crematorium. 100 seats – 85 in main chapel; 15 on balcony. Due to limited ventilation in the waiting room this will remain closed.
- Wakefield Crematorium. 87 seats – 80 in main chapel; 7 in the waiting room.
WMDC are limiting capacity within both Crematoria buildings to seating only , with no standing in the chapels, waiting areas or foyer, so the above numbers are the maximum number of people we will be allowing into the respective buildings for a service. We will still be allowing people to gather outside and we will continue to put the outside speakers on but I would be grateful if you could advise your families of the specific seating capacity. The chairs will be interlocked as before the pandemic and I would request that they are not moved during a service.

We are allowed to hold a funeral reception buffet in our premises immediately following a funeral to a maximum of 50 people.
Funeral arrangements can be made at our office premises or in the family home,
We can also arrange funerals over the phone or by Zoom, Skype, FaceTime or any other media.
If not present, forms would be delivered and collected by hand for your signatures.

We can live Zoom and record funerals held in our premises, at the Crematorium and in most Churches.

ON 28th October, peacefully at home in Wrenthorpe, aged 88 years. Dearly loved dad of Stephen and Lesley, loving grandad to Alex, Bethany and Stephanie, great grandad to Laila and Aiva and Loving friend to Avril.
Funeral Wednesday 10th November, service at Crigglestone Methodist Church at 10.45 am followed by cremation at Wakefield Crematorium. Donations in lieu of flowers to the Church and Marie Curie.
